Neon Equals Cash
Is it only the bars and the pubs that use neon and attract customers? Of course not! Almost every business nowadays uses neon to flash their logo or simply just about anything that may attract customers. Whether it is a tailor shop, a grocery store or a beauty parlor, neon just simply catches the eyes of the customer and makes them come in either to buy or get a service from a provider. The business that uses neon the most of course are the pubs and bars. They not only attract the customers but make the whole pub house or watering holes provide an ambience of life, of high energy, of excitement? which basically turns into unending cash to the cashier's box.
Neon, since its first publicity in Paris, France during the earlier 1990's, flourished around the world due to its eye catching properties. Not only does it glow in daylight but its malleability to conform at any designer's whim like letters or any shape one can think of simply serves the purpose of a good advertising agent to many businesses. It was all expensive at first marking a few thousand dollars for a single ?Packard? lettering bought by a car dealer in 1923 but obviously as with any new technology, the soon became more affordable as the years went by. Supply equaled demands or perhaps manufacturers widely became available hence the popularity continued.
Nowadays, you do not find a disco, a pub, or a bar that does not have a neon sign. You see them outside and inside whether it's a big signage of the discos? logo or promotion of a certain beer or any product displayed right on the bar. In certain places like Las Vegas in Nevada, neon signs became a competition. The brighter and bigger the neon signs were displayed, the more customers were attracted to it. In turn, no one can think of Las Vegas except for its glowing attributes and might be called a 'liquid fire? city since neon is simply associated with that term. Only in that city, one can imagine the cash that flows through those entire establishments.
It is always logical therefore to assume that neon lights can turn a city into a prosperous business and come to think of it, all paying customers were brought in by these attractive signs. To a smaller scale, if your business is located in an array of small shops even if you are in a small town, a neon signage outside your shop will surely make a difference. Not only you become noticed among others, but you will have a sense of leadership and can perhaps be assigned a landmark status.
Of course this will change when all the shops around you will install a better and bigger neon sign than what you have. But again, this is just business. And whatever works that attract customers to buy will surely be taken into consideration and neon lights is one of those.
Kris Starliper has been a fan of neon signs; whether they were used simply for decoration or for advertising a business. One of his favorite topics to write about is how neon signs can be used to stir up more customers for businesses today.
